Paediatric Complex Carer Needed
Experienced Complex Carers / Healthcare Assistants – 12-Hour Shifts
Location: Norwich
Shift Pattern: 12-hour day and night shifts
Pay: £16.00ph - £20.00ph
Hours: Day and night shifts available
We are looking for experienced and compassionate Complex Carers / Healthcare Assistants to provide high-quality care and support to a teenage boy in his own home.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who has experience supporting young people with complex care needs and who can provide safe, person-centred care while promoting independence, dignity and quality of life.
About the role
You will work as part of a small care team, providing support within the family home. You will need to be confident working with complex clinical needs and comfortable working alongside family members and other care professionals.
The young person is sociable, enjoys a wide range of activities and has a great sense of humour. A friendly, patient and engaging personality is therefore essential.
Clinical experience required
Experience and confidence in some or all of the following areas is required:
- Dysphagia management
- Enteral feeding
- Gastrostomy (PEG/G-tube) care
- Jejunostomy (J-tube) care
- Epilepsy management
- Medication administration
- Nebuliser administration
- Oral suctioning
- Oxygen therapy
- Respiratory care
- Postural management
- Supporting individuals with complex physical disabilities
- Recognising and responding appropriately to changes in health
The ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in complex care
- Compassionate, patient and reliable
- Confident working with clinical care needs
- Comfortable working independently within a family home
- Able to follow care plans and clinical guidance
- A good communicator and team player
- Respectful of the young person and their family
- Willing to support social activities and day-to-day life, not just clinical care
- Committed to providing consistent, high-quality care
Relevant nursing, healthcare or complex-care experience is essential.
