Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Nursery Lunch Time Assistant to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will support the smooth running of lunchtime routines, ensuring children enjoy a safe, nutritious, and enjoyable meal experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education and working with children, providing valuable experience in a nurturing environment.
Duties
- Assist children during lunchtime, helping them to eat their meals and encouraging good table manners
- Ensure children are supervised at all times during lunch periods, maintaining a safe environment
- Support with the organisation and setting up of meal areas, including preparing tables and cleaning after meals
- Engage with children in a friendly and caring manner, fostering positive social interactions
- Support with basic behavioural management and promote good behaviour during lunch times
- Collaborate with nursery staff to ensure smooth transition between activities and meal times
- Assist with light cleaning duties related to meal areas, including clearing tables and sanitising surfaces
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare best practices
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Ability to work well as part of a team and demonstrate patience and caring nature
