Job Role: Receptionist / Care Coordinator
Location: The Riverside Practice
Hours: 25 hours per week on a rota
Work Pattern: Flexible shifts between 7:30am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday
About the Role:
We are looking for a friendly, organised, and professional Receptionist / Care Coordinator to join our GP practice. You will be the first point of contact for patients both in person and electronically, managing appointments, handling enquiries, and helping patients access the right service.
Key Duties:
· Care navigate patients to the correct service or clinician, including external referrals.
· Manage appointments, register new and temporary patients, and organise home visits.
· Process prescriptions, patient results, and specimens accurately.
· Open and close the practice, ensuring premises are secure.
· Carry out a range of administrative tasks, including emails, AccRux tasks, and supporting the wider team.
· Attend team meetings and mandatory training, contributing to continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Attributes:
· Excellent communication skills, face-to-face and electronically.
· Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise your own workload and support the team.
· Ability to work methodically, accurately, and independently.
· Professional, approachable, and patient-focused.
· Flexible with shift patterns, including covering extra shifts sometimes at short notice.
· Understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
· Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Desirable:
· Experience using SystmOne or similar clinical systems.
· Previous GP practice experience.
