Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Carer to provide high-quality support to individuals in a care home or home care setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming in accordance with individual care plans
- Support clients with mobility and daily routines to promote independence
- Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client wellbeing
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, ensuring their social needs are met
- Use IT systems to update care records and communicate effectively with team members
- Drive clients to appointments or outings when required, ensuring safe transportation
- Communicate clearly with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care effectively
- Follow health and safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for all
Requirements
- Valid driving licence and the ability to drive clients safely when necessary
- Experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where needed
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them accurately
- Good command of English, both spoken and written, for effective communication
- Strong IT skills for documentation and communication purposes
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals
- Ability to work flexibly, including shifts that may involve evenings or weekends if required
