Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Café staff to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of food safety. This role offers an engaging environment where you can develop your skills in a busy café setting, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist customers with their orders in a friendly and efficient manner, providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other light snacks according to health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and dining areas in accordance with food safety regulations.
- Manage cash register operations accurately, including processing payments and giving correct change using basic maths skills.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and hygiene practices throughout all duties.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service without compromising quality.
- Support team members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in serving roles within cafés or restaurants is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is essential.
- Ability to prepare a variety of beverages and light food items efficiently.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during peak hours.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Ability to work well within a team and independently when required.
