Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team in Staffordshire.
We’re a small, independent children’s care provider with a strong focus on creating homes where children feel safe, valued and supported. We believe relationships come first, and we want our staff to have the time, support and consistency they need to make a genuine difference to the children in our care.
Pay Rates
- £14.00 – £15.40 per hour for QCF Level 3 qualified or working towards
- £15.85 – £16.30 per hour for QCF Level 5 qualified

We’re a small, independent and locally run provider with strong roots in children’s residential care. Our leadership team brings over 20 years’ experience in children’s residential services, with experienced Responsible Individuals who remain actively involved in maintaining high standards across our homes.

The role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you’ll play an important role within the home, supporting children and young people aged 7 to 17 who may have experienced trauma, neglect or instability earlier in their lives.
You’ll provide consistency, warmth and structure, helping young people develop trust, confidence and independence while making sure they feel safe and genuinely at home.
Your day-to-day role will include:
- Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people
- Creating a safe, calm and nurturing home environment
- Supporting education, routines and positive behaviours
- Providing guidance, support and mentorship to Residential Support Workers
- Preparing meals and supporting daily routines, school runs and activities
- Encouraging social and recreational activities, including trips and holidays
- Working alongside managers and external professionals to deliver care plans
- Supporting emotional wellbeing through positive communication and interaction
- Promoting respect, boundaries and a sense of belonging
- Ensuring safeguarding, health and safety and welfare standards are consistently maintained
- Attending team meetings, supervision and ongoing training
About you
We’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about making a difference and who can bring patience, consistency and warmth to their work.
Previous experience working in a children’s residential home as a Residential Support Worker or Senior Residential Support Worker is essential.
You’ll also be:
- Compassionate, reliable and trustworthy
- Calm under pressure and confident building positive relationships
- Flexible and willing to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
- A strong team player who is also able to use their own initiative
- Keen to develop your skills and progress within residential childcare
A full UK driving licence is essential, as our homes are located in rural areas around Stone and Eccleshall.
