If you enjoy coaching people, building strong relationships and seeing the difference your work makes over time, this could be a great next step in your career.
At The Fit House, coaching is about more than simply delivering a workout. Our coaches get to know the people they work with, understand what they're trying to achieve and help them build the consistency, confidence and habits that lead to lasting results.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in their coaching, enjoys working as part of a small team and wants to keep developing.
The Role
You'll spend most of your time doing what you enjoy - coaching people.
You'll be responsible for:
- Coaching Small Group Personal Training, larger group sessions and 1-to-1 sessions.
- Delivering our programmes confidently while adapting them appropriately to the individual.
- Building strong relationships with members and understanding their goals, progress and challenges.
- Holding regular client check-ins and helping people stay accountable to their training, nutrition and lifestyle.
- Tracking progress and working with clients to keep them moving in the right direction.
- Contributing to team meetings, coach development and the day-to-day running of the gym.
We'll train you in The Fit House systems and the way we approach coaching.
You don't need to arrive knowing everything. We're looking for someone with good foundations who is keen to learn, open to feedback and interested in becoming a better coach over time.
The Person We're Looking For
You'll need to hold a Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification and have strong fundamentals in exercise technique and coaching.
Just as importantly, we'd like someone who:
- Genuinely enjoys working with people.
- Builds rapport naturally and communicates clearly.
- Is dependable and takes pride in following things through.
- Is proactive and comfortable using their initiative.
- Works well as part of a team.
- Is receptive to coaching and feedback.
- Wants to continue learning and developing professionally.
Experience with small-group coaching, nutrition or client accountability would be useful, but isn't essential.
We're more interested in finding the right person with strong foundations and the desire to develop.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, employed position based at The Fit House in Gerrards Cross.
Our coaches work on a rotating shift pattern - one week of early shifts followed by one week of late shifts.
We don't routinely operate split shifts where you're required to coach first thing in the morning and then return again in the evening.
On an early week you'll therefore have more of your afternoon and evening available, while on a late week you'll have more of your morning and daytime available.
Some Saturday coaching is also part of the role.
Development & Progression
We want this to be somewhere you can build a career, not simply fill a coaching rota.
You'll receive ongoing development in coaching, client management, communication and the wider skills involved in running a successful fitness facility.
As you develop, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility within The Fit House.
For the right person, that can include a longer-term pathway into leadership and facility operations, with training and experience designed to help you develop the skills required to help run a Fit House facility.
You don't need to be the finished article.
If you're a qualified coach who enjoys working with people, wants to keep improving and is looking for a role with genuine responsibility and room to progress, we'd like to hear from you.
