This is the starting salary for this role unless the successful candidate is able to evidence being in receipt of a higher salary in which case this may be reviewed
About the role
The British Library in Partnership with Qatar National Library has digitised over 2 million images of our collections relating to Qatar and the Gulf region. This Partnership brings to life rare and unique items, making them accessible for audiences worldwide on the Qatar Digital Library (QDL).
We are looking for an Arabic Translator to join the Translation Team. You will be responsible for providing the Arabic translation for different types of specialist content and ensuring the high quality of Arabic copy across the programme. Activities include translation and QA; using CAT tools; understanding and implementing the translation style guidelines of the programme; supporting other teams with tasks that require Arabic language skills. You will receive training to develop familiarity with both the subject matter of the content produced and the tools and systems used across the stages of production relevant to your work.
To apply, you will have excellent command of written Arabic and good writing skills in both English and Arabic. You will be able to demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, good time management, and teamwork skills.
