Night Care Assistant

About the Role;
Starmount Villa Residential Care Home is looking for compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Night Care Assistants to join our friendly, family-run team. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide high-quality overnight care and support to our elderly residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing throughout the night.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to elderly residents during night shifts.
- Assist residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence care.
- Carry out regular welfare checks and respond promptly to residents' needs.
- Support residents with mobility using safe moving and handling techniques.
- Administer or assist with medication where trained and authorised.
- Maintain accurate care records and handover information to the day team.
- Ensure residents feel safe, comfortable, and reassured throughout the night.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Follow all safeguarding, health & safety, infection control, and company policies.
What We're Looking For;
Essential:
- Previous experience working in a residential care home.
- A caring, compassionate, and respectful approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently during night shifts.
- A commitment to providing outstanding person-centred care.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards one).
- Medication training.
- Moving and handling training.
