Education Futures Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Coach & Mentor to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will work with children, young people and adults across Hastings and Rother, providing alternative learning opportunities, mentoring and personalised support that help individuals overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
This is a varied and flexible role where no two days are the same. You will develop strong relationships with the people we support, delivering engaging activities and interventions that promote learning, personal development and wellbeing.
The Role
Please note this is a term time contract.
You will:
- Deliver alternative learning projects and activities that address both social and academic needs.
- Plan and facilitate engaging sessions for individuals and groups.
- Provide mentoring, guidance and tailored support to help participants progress.
- Build positive, trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Monitor progress, maintain records and provide feedback to participants and stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with schools, families, external agencies and funding partners.
- Promote safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments.
- Travel regularly to off-site learning activities and programmes.
About You
We are seeking someone who:
- Has experience delivering alternative learning opportunities for children and young people.
- Has experience supporting individuals with additional needs or social, emotional and behavioural challenges.
- Can motivate, engage and inspire a diverse range of learners.
- Is creative, organised and able to design activities that meet individual needs.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Works well independently and as part of a team.
- Holds a professional or vocational qualification at Level 3 or above.
- Has a full driving licence, access to a vehicle and is able to travel independently.
Desirable
- Mentoring or tutoring experience.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Coaching skills and experience.
- First Aid qualification.
· AET/teacher training qualification
