Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fencer to join a construction team we are working closley with, bringing expertise in installing, repairing, and maintaining fences across various projects. This role is vital in enhancing security, privacy, and aesthetic appeal for residential, commercial, and industrial sites. As a Fencer, you will work closely with project managers and other tradespeople to deliver high-quality fencing solutions efficiently and safely. Your hands-on skills and attention to detail will contribute to the success of each project while ensuring safety standards are upheld.
Responsibilities
- Measure and mark fencing layouts accurately according to project specifications
- Install different types of fencing materials including wood, chain link, vinyl, and metal panels
- Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, levels, and measuring tapes to assemble fence components
- Operate power tools like drills, saws, post drivers, and welding equipment for fabrication and installation tasks
- Repair or replace damaged fencing sections promptly to maintain integrity and appearance
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all phases of work
- Assist with site preparation including digging post holes using manual or powered equipment
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly
Experience
- Proven experience in fencing installation or related construction trades such as carpentry or masonry
- Knowledge of various fencing materials and their specific installation requirements
- Familiarity with construction painting, roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, and fabrication is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively on diverse job sites
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction activities including working at heights and around heavy machinery
- Experience working with masonry or roofing can enhance your versatility in this role
- Prior exposure to electrical or plumbing projects is advantageous but not mandatory
