About Us
We are a busy professional family with 3 school-aged children living in a modern 5-bedroom home (approx. 1,900 sq ft) in St Albans. We are looking for an exceptionally organised, proactive, and efficient Housekeeper / Family Assistant to keep our home running smoothly.
The ideal candidate will be highly methodical, capable of self-managing a weekly routine, and brilliant at keeping on top of household organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Routine Cleaning & Floor Care: Maintaining our home to a high standard, following a rotation across all 3 floors. This includes deep cleaning bathrooms, the kitchen, vacuuming carpets/rugs, and mopping flooring.
- Laundry & Ironing: Running the washing machine, hanging clothes to dry, ironing school uniforms, and putting items directly away into wardrobes.
- School Lunch Prep: Responsibly managing the daily preparation of the children's school packed lunches (sandwiches/wraps, chopping fruit/veg, and prepping water bottles).
- General House Tidying: Conducting quick daily resets (such as a shoe roundup from living areas) and keeping high-traffic areas orderly.
- "As Required" Floating Projects: Utilizing pockets of downtime to tackle organizational projects, such as sorting outgrown kids' clothes into charity/keep piles, tidying landing storage, and organizing kitchen/utility cupboards.
Requirements
- Experience in a similar role (Housekeeper, Nanny-Housekeeper, High-End Cleaner).
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills. Able to work efficiently within a 3-hour daily window.
- High attention to detail in cleaning and laundry management.
- Ability to work completely on your own initiative.
- Excellent checkable references.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
