Location: Ballylumford and Kilroot Power Station
This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Supervisor at Scotts Electrical Services. The Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all electrical maintenance, inspection, fault finding, repair, and installation activities across the power station to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the plant. The role will provide technical leadership to the electrical team, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures, statutory regulations and health and safety requirements. The successful candidate will support maintenance planning, oversee contractors where required and drive continuous improvement in performance and safety.
Essential Criteria
· Recognised electrical trade qualification.
· Proven experience working as an Electrical Supervisor or senior electrician within an industrial, power generation, utilities or heavy industry environment.
· Demonstrable experience supervising electrical maintenance and installation activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
· Strong knowledge of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems, switchgear, motors, transformers, control systems, and associated plant equipment.
· Experience in fault finding, diagnostics, preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, and coordinating corrective actions.
· Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures including isolation, lockout/tagout (LOTO), permits to work, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
· Experience leading teams in safety-critical environments with a strong commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
· Ability to plan, prioritise, and coordinate maintenance activities to minimise plant downtime.
· Strong leadership, organisational and decision-making skills.
· Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with operations, contractors and multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
· Willingness to work, overtime, call-outs and planned outage/shutdown periods as required.
Desirable Criteria
· Previous experience within a power station, energy, or utility sector.
· Supervisory qualification.
· Confined space, working at heights, or other relevant industrial safety certifications.
· IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent health and safety qualification.
