Policy, Regulatory & Funding Manager
Oxfordshire | Permanent | 40 hours per week |On site 5 days
THE CONTEXT
Ryze Power is helping businesses make the transition to lower-carbon energy and transport a practical reality.
Working across EV charging, high-quality drop-in biofuels including HVO, LNG and CNG, and green hydrogen supply and infrastructure, we provide the energy solutions that enable fleet and industrial customers to decarbonise their operations.
As the energy and transport landscape evolves, policy, regulation and public funding are increasingly shaping where and how businesses invest. For Ryze, understanding that landscape and turning it into commercial opportunity is critical to our growth across the UK and Europe.
Ryze Power is part of HydraB, a group of businesses focused on accelerating the transition to zero-emission energy and transport.
THE ROLE
As Ryze scales across the UK and into Europe, you’ll shape and coordinate our response to the fast-evolving policy, regulatory and funding landscape for low-carbon energy.
You’ll make sure our strategy, propositions and projects remain aligned with emerging climate, energy and transport policy, identify where regulatory change creates risk or opportunity, and ensure Ryze is well positioned to access relevant public funding.
This is a role for someone equally comfortable translating dense policy into clear commercial recommendations as they are building a funding pipeline from scratch.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
- Monitor UK and European policy and regulatory developments across hydrogen, biofuels, EV charging and transport decarbonisation, translating what they mean for Ryze, our customers and our growth plans
- Prepare briefings and recommendations for senior leadership, identifying emerging risks, opportunities and actions
- Build and maintain a pipeline of relevant UK and European funding opportunities aligned to Ryze's projects and strategic priorities
- Coordinate across commercial, finance, engineering and operations to shape and submit strong funding applications, supported by financial modelling and business case development
- Develop relationships with government departments, funding bodies, trade associations and industry groups, representing Ryze at consultations and relevant industry forums
- Work closely with the wider business to ensure policy and regulatory developments are factored into commercial propositions, investment decisions and future projects
YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU
- Have strong experience in a policy, regulatory, funding or strategy role within energy, transport, infrastructure, clean tech or a related sector
- Have a demonstrable understanding of UK and/or EU climate, energy and transport policy frameworks
- Have experience managing or contributing to public funding or grant applications for infrastructure, innovation or low-carbon projects
- Have good financial modelling and business case skills (Excel), with the ability to work confidently with project economics and assumptions
- Are a strong analytical and written communicator who can turn complex policy and regulation into clear, practical recommendations
- Are commercially minded and able to connect changes in policy and regulation with what they mean for customers, projects and growth
- Are comfortable working cross-functionally and managing multiple workstreams at once
NICE TO HAVE
- Direct experience within hydrogen, alternative fuels, EV charging or transport decarbonisation
- Experience working with UK or European government funding programmes
- Familiarity with carbon accounting or sustainability reporting frameworks
- Relevant professional membership or certification
