Job Overview
We are seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to lead the growth of Leo Design Systems Ltd 's customer base and commercial partnerships. You'll identify new markets and opportunities, build strategic relationships with contractors, developers, and trade partners, and help shape the company's sales strategy as we expand our footprint in the UPVC door solutions market. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy to grow revenue across residential, commercial, and trade customer segments.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including partnerships with contractors, builders, property developers, and housing associations.
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients, from initial approach through to signed contracts.
- Lead and support the sales team (including the Business Sales Executive) to ensure targets are met and enquiries are converted effectively.
- Represent Leo Design Systems Ltd at trade events, networking meetings, and industry exhibitions to raise brand awareness.
- Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform product and pricing strategy.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms with larger commercial and trade accounts.
- Collaborate with Production and Operations to ensure sales commitments align with manufacturing and delivery capacity.
- Report regularly to senior management on pipeline, performance, and growth opportunities.
- Proven experience in business development or sales roles, preferably within a similar industry sector but not necessary.
- Demonstrable success in generating new leads and converting prospects into clients.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- A proactive attitude with a keen interest in market trends and customer needs.
Requirements
- Proven track record in business development, sales management, or account management in any field .
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and close new business opportunities.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience managing or mentoring junior sales staff is an advantage.
- Confident using CRM systems, Microsoft Office/Excel, and reporting tools.
- Strategic thinker who is equally comfortable executing hands-on sales activity.
