IMAX Engineering Limited is a small, well-established CNC machine shop located in the scenic area of Malvern. We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior CNC Programmer / Operator & Workshop Manager to take a leading role in our machining operations.
Role Overview:
This is a hands-on leadership position combining advanced CNC programming and machining expertise with day-to-day workshop management. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing production, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient workflow across the shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming, setting, and operating 3-axis CNC mills, primarily using Fanuc controls
- Leading and managing daily workshop operations, ensuring productivity and efficiency
- Supervising and supporting team members, providing technical guidance where required
- Quality control, including inspection of own work and overseeing shop-wide standards
- Troubleshooting machining issues and optimising programs, tooling, and processes
- Managing tooling, materials, and machine utilisation to meet production targets
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings to deliver high-quality components to customer specifications
- Driving continuous improvement within the workshop
Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience in CNC programming, setting, and operation (Fanuc preferred)
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage a small team
- Excellent understanding of technical drawings and tight tolerance work
- Ability to work independently while also taking responsibility for overall workshop performance
- Proven track record of maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines
- Proactive, reliable, and positive ‘can-do’ attitude
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in a similar or senior role preferred
Additional Information:
- Work pattern: 4-day week, Monday to Thursday, 06:30 – 16:30
- Overtime opportunities available as required.
