Masons are a well-established distributor of fasteners and fixings, proudly serving our customers for many years. We’re expanding our team, looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative. This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with one other team member while taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the warehouse on a full time, permanent basis.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role within a warehouse environment; you will be required to work within all areas of the warehouse working as part of the team, and independently as required. Ideal for someone reliable, organised, and experienced in warehouse operations.
- Picking Packing and despatching goods
- Moving stock around by hand or on a forklift truck
- Checking for damaged/missing items and goods-in inspection
- Loading goods for despatch
- Storing goods
- Stock records
- Keeping paperwork up to date and administrative duties
- Take delivery of goods and supplies
- Use of computer systems for stock control, receipt and despatch.
- Willingness to learn products we sell - stay up to date with products, new contracts and requirements
- Deliver/Collect goods on an ad-hoc basis
At Masons, everyone works across a variation of tasks, you will be required to liaise with other colleagues and departments daily. If you are someone that enjoys getting stuck in, then this could be the perfect fit! from time to time, you may also be asked to collect or deliver goods on an ad-hoc basis, a flexible, hands-on approach is essential.
Working hours:
Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 17:00
Friday 08.00 – 13.00
What we’re looking for in our Warehouse Operative/Driver:
- Experience of working in a similar warehouse environment - essential
- Valid UK driving license – essential
- Knowledge of Fasteners – desirable but training provided
- Experience with using a forklift is desirable but training provided
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work as a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately pick and stock items.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
