Shermaynes Engineering Ltd is a subcontract manufacturer of precision sheet metal and fabricated components/assemblies to a wide variety of prestige customers across the UK.
We produce in excess of 100,000 components each year, but every week is different as the mix of work changes constantly and new products come along all the time.
We currently need Multi-skilled Production Operatives to join the team on the factory floor, undertaking a variety of duties, including :
- Various production tasks including, but not limited to: Drilling, PEMserting, Linishing, Shotblasting, Weld Cleaning, Sanding, Finishing, Painting, and Assembly. Setting and operating industrial bandsaws/circular saws
- Helping to operate and maintain various items of machinery.
- Helping to check that finished products comply with specifications.
- Assisting with the handling of products within the factory.
- General housekeeping of the work area.
Essential skills include :
- The ability to learn new skills quickly and to adapt to changing requirements, depending on the demands of customers.
- The ability to work safely.
- A desire to produce the best product possible.
- A desire to improve existing skills or learn new ones.
- A desire to look for potential ways of improving products or processes.
Non-essential but very beneficial skills :
- Experience of working in a factory environment and familiarity with engineering drawings.
- Current counterbalance forklift certification.
Training will be provided for all tasks and safe operation will be monitored.

Our working week is 37 hours : 8am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday, with an early finish at 12pm on Fridays. Rates are negotiable, depending on experience.
