Job Overview
As the outreach of Valide Sultan Mosque grows, we seek to base newly religious community projects alongside enhancing the professionality of our current public outreach. With these needs and demands in consideration, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Minister of Religion to join our team. This role involves fostering community engagement, organizing and developing religious programs, and supporting the spiritual and social needs of our community members, in accordance to our religious Islamic order.
Responsibilities
- Leading worship regularly and on special occasions
- Leading and developing the daily and special occasion’s worship services
- Providing religious education for children and adults by preaching or teaching
- Leading marriages, funerals and other special services
- Recruiting, training and co-ordinating work of local volunteers and lay preachers
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to assist with mosque activities and community initiatives
- Developing and maintaining relationships with community members, local organizations, and stakeholders to promote religious collaboration and support
- Planing, organising and overseeing religious events and outreach programs
- Developing newly programs in consideration of community’s demand and needs alongisde strengthening the current ones
- Providing spiritual guidance and counseling to community members, addressing their religious concerns and welfare support
- Developing and implementing educational programs tailored to the needs of our youth, providing guidance and support to ensure their academic and spiritual growth
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Islamic teachings and principles.
- Experience in Islamic preaching, lecturing and minister of religion.
- Experience in community organising, outreach, or similar roles.
- Experience in working in religious organisations.
- Experience and knowledge in working with our community and our target group.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate a diverse community.
- Experience in educational program development and youth counseling.
- Strong knowledge, experience and ability in Arabic, Turkish and English culture.
- Proficiency in Arabic, Turkish, and English is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £24,000.00-£24,500.00 per year
