Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural and Sheet Metal CAD Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed CAD models and schematics for structural and sheet metal components used in construction and manufacturing projects. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models of structural and sheet metal components using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Prepare comprehensive schematics and technical drawings aligned with project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and construction teams to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
- Review design drawings for compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and client requirements.
- Assist in the integration of CAD models into larger project workflows using NavisWorks for clash detection and coordination.
- Maintain organised digital files of all CAD drawings and schematics for easy retrieval and version control.
- Support construction teams during project implementation by providing technical guidance on CAD-related issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CAD design within the construction or manufacturing sectors.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, NavisWorks, Civil 3D, and Schematics.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and sheet metal fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations relevant to construction projects.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- A recognised qualification in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not essential.
