An opportunity has arisen for the position of a Kindle Hub worker (Outreach). As an Edge of Care Service, our aim is to work with families, carers, and children and young people to prevent out of home placements, sustain foster placements and or help transition children/young people from care provisions, back to the care of their parents/carers. The team offers intensive support to families and carers of young people aged 8-18. The goal is to help families make significant, positive changes by building on their existing strengths, and increasing coping strategies and resilience.
You will deliver effective and focused interventions to families in crisis that will meet the needs of children and young people primarily between the ages of 8-17. You will provide direct tailored parenting support for families as identified via the assessment plans and liase with our Multi agency partners to deliver the right support at the right time, The team work between 9am - 9pm 7 days a weeks and work both flexibly and as part of an out of hours duty team on a rota basis.
Operating within the spirit and framework of the children Act 1989, National Minimum Standards, Children’s Homes Regulations and Safeguarding frameworks.
You will have NVQ 3 Caring for Children and Young People, hold or have commitment to gain QCF Level 3 Diploma Health and Social Care and evidence of continued personal and professional development.
You will have 1-2 years’ experience of direct working with children and young people aged 10-18 and their families or a similar environment.
Knowledge of parental support and intervention work, delivered within a model.
Knowledge of services available in the community for children, young people, and families.
You will demonstrate a flexible, persistent and resilient approach to working in the community with families and supporting children and young people with complex behaviours utilising both the Kindle model and Restorative Practice principles.
You will have experience of working with established systems and procedures to ensure secure and accurate recording of information as well as working with multi-agencies.
You will have good communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills, both verbally and in written communications, whilst being sensitive to the needs of individual children, young people and their families regarding race, culture, language, religion, gender, sexuality, and culture-specific events
