We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic Cook to join our friendly team in our busy rural café. If you’re passionate about producing high-quality homemade food, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and thrive as part of a close-knit team, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
As our Cook, you’ll be responsible for preparing and serving freshly made breakfasts, lunches and daily specials while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness and presentation. No two days are the same, so you’ll need to be organised, adaptable and able to work calmly under pressure during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food to a consistently high standard.
- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and served promptly.
- Assist with menu preparation, daily specials and stock rotation.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organised and well stocked.
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to provide outstanding customer service.
- Support colleagues wherever needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous cooking or café kitchen experience (preferred but not essential for the right person).
- Enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
- Can remain calm and efficient during busy periods.
- Is flexible and willing to help where needed.
- Has excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Takes pride in producing consistently great food.
- Is dependable, punctual and has a positive attitude.
- Holds a Food Hygiene Certificate (or is willing to obtain one).
