Commercial Plumber
Location: London (field-based) Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 + annual profit share bonus Contract: Full-time, permanent
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Commercial Plumber to join our collaborative team. This is a varied, field-based role covering commercial plumbing across a wide range of sites — from plant rooms and their associated equipment through to the domestic-style systems you'll often find within commercial premises like shops and offices.
We need versatile plumbers who are confident working on plant room equipment but equally happy to turn their hand to domestic systems when a job calls for it. No two days are the same, so we value people who can adapt and think on their feet.
Strong communication with the office and thorough reporting are essential to this role — keeping accurate records, providing clear updates, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
What You'll Do
Pump work — you'll be confident servicing, repairing and installing commercial size:
- Booster sets
- Circulating pumps
- Shunt pumps
Plant room equipment — you'll be expected to service, diagnose and maintain:
- Expansion vessels
- Pressurisation units
- Dosing pots
- Air and dirt separators
- Developing a solid understanding of how the wider heating system fits together
You'll also:
- Carry out leak detection and resolve leaks efficiently and cleanly
- Diagnose faults and carry out reactive maintenance
- Attend plumbing call-outs at commercial properties
- Work on domestic-style systems within commercial premises where required
- Maintain thorough documentation and provide clear, timely updates to the office
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers throughout each job
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver excellent service
What You'll Need
- 15+ years experience
- Plumbing qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Experience working in commercial plant rooms and with the equipment listed above
- Confidence across a broad range of systems, both commercial and domestic
- Excellent communication skills – both written reporting and verbal updates
- Full UK driving licence
- A problem-solver who takes ownership of their work
Desirable (Not Essential)
- F-Gas certification
- Commercial gas qualifications
