Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper join our Digital Bookkeeping team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles and experience with various accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a portfolio of clients.
- Update and maintain client bookkeeping through the processing of information into the relevant software systems.
- Undertake the preparation of VAT returns, actively monitoring deadlines and client queries.
- Undertake the completion of HMRC enquiries.
- Carry out the bookkeeping preparation for a wide range of business entities using both computerised and manual records.
- Assist in the transition of making tax digital.
- Undertake training of new clients in the use of accounting software systems.
- Assist with the ad hoc completion of project work for clients.
- Liaising with clients on their bookkeeping and handling day to day queries.
- Enrol clients on new software systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks, or Xero.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders within the organisation.
- A relevant qualification in finance or accounting is desirable but not essential.
