This is a full-time position for a Surveyor of Dampness & Timber in Properties. The role is key to maintaining and enhancing Nordic Damp Proofing’s reputation while driving sales growth through high-quality surveys, accurate reporting and confident client communication.
We are ideally looking for someone with experience in damp and timber surveying. However, we are also open to training a motivated individual with a strong background in sales who is eager to develop technical knowledge within the industry.
The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge (or the willingness to learn) with commercial awareness and sales ability. You will be confident dealing with clients face-to-face, detail-focused and motivated to convert surveys into successful projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake damp, timber and waterproofing surveys, assessing defects and recommending appropriate remedial works (full training provided where required)
- Conduct face-to-face surveys and manage client relationships from initial inspection through to report and quotation
- Provide clear, accurate reports and specifications for remedial works
- Act as technical support for internal staff (as experience develops)
- Liaise daily with internal teams, site operatives, suppliers and manufacturers
- Promote and sell Nordic Damp Proofing’s services confidently and professionally
- Support the development and growth of sales and customer base within your region
- Ensure all surveys and recommendations comply with legal requirements and industry standards
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure accuracy
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in damp proofing, timber treatments, waterproofing or a similar field preferred but not essential
- OR strong background in sales (construction, property, or similar industries highly advantageous)
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Confident working independently and managing your own workload
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn technical aspects of the role
- Ability to liaise effectively between clients, operatives, suppliers and internal staff
- Full clean UK driving licence
