Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced FLT (Forklift Truck), HIAB (Lorry Loader Crane), and HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) instructor to join our dedicated team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to share your expertise, inspire learners, and contribute to the development of skilled drivers. You will deliver comprehensive training sessions, ensuring candidates gain the confidence and competence needed for safe and efficient vehicle operation.
Duties
- Deliver engaging and practical training for FLT, HIAB, and HGV driving courses to a diverse range of learners
- Assess trainees’ skills through practical tests and theoretical assessments, providing constructive feedback
- Maintain accurate training records, including progress reports and certification documentation
- Ensure all training complies with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies
- Support learners with their development by offering guidance on driving techniques, safety procedures, and mechanical knowledge
- Keep up-to-date with legislative changes related to commercial driving, warehouse operations, and vehicle safety
- Promote a positive learning environment that encourages confidence, safety awareness, and professionalism
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driver roles, or warehouse operations with hands-on mechanical knowledge
- Valid FLT (Forklift), HIAB (Lorry Loader Crane), and HGV driver licenses with a strong driving record
- Previous experience as a driver or trainer in a logistics or transportation setting is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate learners of varying skill levels
- Knowledge of flatbed operations and delivery procedures is advantageous
- Ability to demonstrate safety-conscious practices and uphold industry standards
- Strong organizational skills to manage training schedules and maintain detailed records
