The Role
An opportunity has arisen at Stalybridge to join the Conversion team as a Production Operator. We are looking for a highly motivated, focused and driven individual who can demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude together with excellent organisational skills.
The role involves operating conversion, print and case-making equipment, ensuring production targets, quality standards and safety requirements are consistently achieved. You will be expected to train across multiple production areas to contribute to a flexible, multi-skilled team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor conversion, print and operate die cut and flexographic folder gluer casemaker machinery safely and efficiently.
- Set up machines for production runs, ensuring correct materials and specifications are used, according to specific works order.
- Carry out routine machine adjustments to maintain quality and productivity standards.
- Perform quality checks and inspections throughout the production process.
- Identify and report quality, equipment or process issues promptly.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Undertake general manual handling duties in line with safe working practices.
- Carry out basic computer-based tasks, including recording production data and reporting downtime.
- Support housekeeping activities and maintain high standards of cleanliness within the production area, conducting daily cleaning tasks.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve production targets and continuous improvement objectives.
- Minimise waste through effective machine operation and process control.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures and policies.
- Conduct routine machine inspections and basic preventative maintenance activities.
- Identify and report equipment defects or potential issues before they impact production.
- Maintain machine settings and tooling to achieve optimum performance and quality.

- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Understanding and appreciation of Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience of working to BRCGS standards.
