Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and flexible Cook / Chef to join our friendly team. The ideal candidate will enjoy preparing nutritious, appetising food for our elderly residents, knowledge of IDDSI will be advantageous but full training provided. This role involves overseeing food preparation, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards, taking into account specialised diets, food allergies and intolerances.
- Oversee food safety protocols, maintaining hygiene standards in compliance with regulations
- Coordinate with care teams to ensure timely serving of meals
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
- Assist in menu planning and development to keep offerings innovative and appealing
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
Skills
- Proven experience within a professional kitchen setting, food production and culinary experience, including cooking techniques and presentation skills
- Awareness and experience of ensuring IDDSI levels are maintained
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Previous experience demonstrating adaptability in fast-paced environments
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
