Location of Roles: Revival House Church, 500 High Street North, Manor Park, London E12 6QN.
(The post-holder will also be required to undertake missionary and outreach activities at the Southend branch and other outreach locations across the United Kingdom as ministry needs require.)
Purpose of the Role
The Missionary is a full-time pastoral ministry position responsible for advancing the Christian faith through evangelism, discipleship, church outreach, pastoral ministry, and community engagement.
The purpose of the role is to proclaim the Christian Gospel, support the spiritual development of new believers, establish and strengthen discipleship programmes, and assist in extending the ministry of Revival House Church through local mission initiatives and community-based ministry.
The post-holder will work under the direction of the Senior Pastor and will play a key role in supporting the church’s vision of reaching communities with the Gospel, developing mature disciples of Jesus Christ, and strengthening the church’s evangelistic and missionary outreach.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Missionary will:
- Preach and teach the Christian faith through evangelistic services, Bible studies, community outreach events, and church programmes.
- Lead evangelistic outreach initiatives within local communities, schools, public spaces, care settings, and other appropriate ministry locations.
- Share the Christian Gospel through personal evangelism, community engagement, and organised mission activities.
- Provide pastoral care, spiritual guidance, mentoring, and biblical counselling to new believers and members of the local community.
- Support the integration and discipleship of new converts through structured follow-up programmes, Bible studies, and mentoring relationships.
- Assist in establishing and developing new ministry initiatives and supporting the continued growth of the Southend branch and future church planting activities.
- Work with our church arm for community outreach programmes, including foodbank ministry, family support initiatives, and charitable activities that demonstrate the Christian faith through practical service.
- Organise and participate in prayer meetings, evangelistic campaigns, mission conferences, and special religious events.
- Recruit, train, and mentor church members in personal evangelism, discipleship, and community mission.
- Work collaboratively with the Youth Ministry, Family Ministry, Worship Ministry, and Discipleship & Training Department to ensure that evangelistic activities lead to ongoing spiritual growth and church integration.
- Represent Revival House Church at community events, inter-church gatherings, and mission partnerships where appropriate.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in the pastoral leadership and continued expansion of the church’s missionary and outreach ministries.
- Ensure that all missionary activities are conducted in accordance with the church’s doctrinal beliefs, safeguarding policies, and ministry values.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
- 3 years’ experience working in a church setting as a committed worker or volunteer in Discipleship and Bible Training.
- Qualification degree in Biblical Studies or ministry related field
- Fixed Term contract of 3 years, with a probation period of 6 months.
- Available to start immediately.
- A full enhanced DBS check will be carried out prior to appointment.
Nature of the Role
This is a full-time pastoral Minister of Religion position.
The role primarily involves preaching and teaching the Christian faith, evangelism, pastoral care, discipleship, missionary outreach, and the spiritual nurture of new believers. The Missionary will exercise ministerial responsibilities under the authority of the Senior Pastor and will support the church’s mission of advancing the Christian faith through evangelism, community engagement, and discipleship.
The post-holder will be based primarily at Revival House Church, Manor Park, London, but will regularly undertake ministry activities at the Southend branch and other outreach locations as required. The role is integral to the church’s vision of expanding its ministry, strengthening existing congregations, and reaching new communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
