MFL Teacher Jobs in Liverpool – September Starts
Zen Educate is currently recruiting MFL Teachers for a number of secondary schools across the Liverpool area. We have recently started working with several multi-academy trusts across the city, each with multiple schools, and we are supporting them with their Modern Foreign Languages department recruitment for the new academic year.
We are currently looking for 10 MFL Teachers across our different partner schools in Liverpool.
To be considered for these MFL Teacher roles, applicants must either hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT).
These MFL Teacher roles are ideal for qualified teachers who are looking for a September start and would like the opportunity to be considered for multiple schools through one application process.
We are interested in hearing from MFL Teachers who can teach one or more of the following languages: French, Spanish, German, Russian or Italian.
Because Zen Educate is working with a number of trusts across Liverpool, each successful MFL Teacher applicant may have the opportunity to interview or trial at more than one school. This gives you the chance to meet different MFL departments, visit different school settings, and find the role that is the best fit for you.
Trials and interviews for these MFL Teacher positions will be taking place throughout June and July, with successful placements starting in September.
The Role
As an MFL Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective Modern Foreign Languages lessons to secondary school pupils. Depending on the school and timetable, you may be teaching French, Spanish, German, Russian or Italian across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, supporting students with speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary and cultural understanding.
The successful MFL Teacher will be expected to plan and deliver high-quality lessons, support pupils of different abilities, contribute to the wider MFL department, and help students make strong progress in their language learning.
Each school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic MFL Teacher who can build positive relationships with pupils, maintain high expectations in the classroom, and contribute to a supportive learning environment.
MFL Teacher Responsibilities
As an MFL Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching MFL across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Delivering lessons in French, Spanish, German, Russian or Italian
- Planning and preparing engaging MFL lessons

- Working closely with the MFL department and wider school team
- Preparing pupils for assessments, GCSE examinations and internal progress checks
- Following school policies on behaviour, safeguarding and curriculum delivery
- Contributing to the continued success of the MFL department
The Ideal MFL Teacher
We are looking for MFL Teachers who are passionate about education and confident teaching Modern Foreign Languages in a secondary school setting. These roles would suit experienced MFL Teachers or ECTs who are looking for a new MFL teaching opportunity from September.
The ideal MFL Teacher will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT)
