Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Window and Conservatory Fitter to join our family run team, we have a solid team of 3 installers and have enough work to add a 4th for full time work. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of windows/conservatories in residential and commercial properties. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The successful applicant will have experience with power tools and be comfortable interpreting schematics to ensure precise installations.
Duties
- Install and replace windows, doors and conservatories in accordance with manufacturer specifications and building regulations.
- Measure and cut materials accurately to fit window frames.
- Use power tools and hand tools to fabricate window components as needed.
- Ensure proper sealing and insulation of windows to enhance energy efficiency.
- Perform repairs on existing windows, including glass replacement and frame adjustments.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and roofers, to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Window/Conservatory Fitter
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of building regulations related to window installation.
- Skills in masonry, plastering, plumbing, welding, or electrical work are advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work at heights safely when installing roof windows or skylights.
- Good physical fitness as the role may involve lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
