Role Requirements
The successful candidate should have:
Independent Prescriber status, preferred but not essential.
Previous experience working in a GP practice, preferred but not essential
A minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience.
Strong clinical knowledge. A Clinical Diploma would be preferred, although this is not essential.
A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
Good IT skills and confidence using clinical systems.
Strong communication, interpersonal and clinical leadership skills.
Role Responsibilities
The role may include, but is not limited to:
Providing structured medication reviews.
Reviewing acute medicines requests.
Processing hospital discharge summaries and clinic letters.
Providing support and advice to patients with self-limiting conditions.
Supporting the practice in achieving QOF targets, where required.
Contributing to improved health outcomes for patients with long-term conditions as part of the wider multidisciplinary primary care team.
Undertaking other clinically relevant tasks as agreed as part of the role.
Essential criteria
Mandatory registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council Independent prescriber or currently working towards qualification.
