An independent project management consultancy is looking to appoint a Project Manager to join its growing London team.
The business delivers complex construction projects across higher education, life sciences, commercial, healthcare and other specialist sectors. This is a good opportunity for someone who wants broader project ownership, direct exposure to senior leadership and greater visibility than they may receive within a larger, more layered consultancy.
The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants and contractors across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility and design development through procurement, construction and handover.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Managing construction projects through multiple RIBA stages
- Coordinating design teams, consultants and contractors
- Preparing and maintaining programmes, risk registers and project reports
- Supporting procurement and consultant appointments
- Managing project meetings and stakeholder communication
- Monitoring cost, programme, quality and delivery risks
- Supporting contract administration and change control
- Providing clear advice and reporting to clients
- Taking ownership of projects while working closely with the consultancy’s partners
About you
You are likely to have:
- Around three to six years’ experience in construction project management
- Experience working within a project management or property consultancy
- A track record of delivering building projects through multiple RIBA stages
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills
- Experience in procurement, design coordination, risk and programme management
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of project governance
- A construction, surveying, engineering or architectural background
Experience across higher education, life sciences, healthcare, commercial refurbishment, laboratories or other technically complex projects would be particularly useful.
Chartership is not essential, although candidates working towards MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM or another relevant professional qualification are encouraged to apply.
