We are a vibrant and growing Korean-Japanese street food kiosk specialising in freshly prepared sushi, ramen, noodles, katsu, poke bowls, donburi bowls, and Korean-style fried chicken. We are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious chef to join our small but dynamic team.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes fresh to order, ensuring quality and consistency
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, small kitchen environment
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety
- Assist with general kitchen duties and stock management
- Ensure all food preparation meets established food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work station in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist in the development of new sushi recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience.
- Monitor ingredient freshness and manage stock levels to minimise waste.
- Uphold the restaurant’s reputation for quality and authenticity in every dish served.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, particularly within Japanese-Korean cuisine.
- Strong skills in cooking techniques related to sushi, including knife skills and fish handling.
- Extensive kitchen experience with knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and taste.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple orders during peak hours.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, especially within a fast-paced setting involving serving customers directly or via waitstaff. This position is fully paid and offers an engaging environment for culinary professionals passionate about Japanese & Korean cuisine and sushi artistry.
