Retail Assistant – Part Time & Full Time (Seasonal)

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Summer Retail Assistant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain retail experience during the busy summer months, providing excellent customer service and supporting store operations. This is a seasonal role starting in mid July, with availability required throughout July and August, our busiest period of the year. Employment will run until approximately early to mid September. Fat Willy’s is a busy, lively and fast-paced retail environment during the summer, often with queues out the door and a full shop throughout the day.
The ideal candidate will be organised, communicative, and eager to develop their skills in a busy, vibrant retail environment. This position is paid and suitable for students or individuals in Newquay for the Summer.
Pay
- Ages 18 to 20, £12.50 per hour
- Ages 21 plus, £13.50 per hour
Competitive rates above minimum wage for seasonal work.
Part time: 20 to 30 hours per week
Full time: 5 days per week
Example of typical working hours:
- 10am to 4pm
- 10am to 5pm
- 9:30am to 6:00pm
Breaks:
- 30 minute unpaid break for shifts 6 hours+
No evening shifts required.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers and maintaining a friendly shop atmosphere
- Restocking and organising the shop floor
- Keeping the store clean, tidy and well presented
- Supporting the team during busy periods
- Operating our POS system and serving customers
- Handling transactions accurately and efficiently

Retail experience is preferred but not essential.

Important
This is a seasonal role, and applicants must be available for the majority of the Summer holidays, especially August.
