Job Overview: We are seeking a reliable and professional 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting/loading goods to and from various locations across the uk, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. The role also includes assisting the team during the "rip out" phase of our operation. This is a very dynamic part of the business and involves the clearance of department stores, shops and cafes etc. It will involve nights out as part of the role. The role also requires a strong focus on safety, organisation, and efficient driving skills. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic logistics environment, supporting the smooth operation of our delivery and collection services as well as warehousing services
- Safely operate a 7.5 Tonne commercial vehicle to deliver goods to and from various uk locations
- Manual handling of various goods
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled deadlines
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring the security of cargo during transit
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any unforeseen delays
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies during driving operations
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence with a category suitable for 7.5 Tonne vehicles (Cat C1) or equivalent
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with 7.5 Tonne
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Experience with commercial driving and understanding of road safety regulations
- Ability to handle physical tasks such as loading and unloading cargo safely
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Excellent communication skills and professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
