Working Site Supervisor – Nationwide Industrial and Commercial Projects
Internal position: Field Manager
£17.00–£18.25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Permanent, full-time | Minimum 37.5 paid hours | Typical week 40–60 paid hours
You will live within approximately one hour’s travelling distance of our Harrogate base, HG3 1EQ.
CCS Group is a fast-growing specialist industrial cleaning company delivering demanding projects at industrial and commercial sites throughout the UK.
We are looking for a practical, organised and safety-conscious Field Manager who can lead teams from the front and deliver high-quality work safely and on time.
Previous industrial cleaning experience is not essential. We will provide training in our specialist cleaning methods, equipment and working practices. We are particularly interested in people with transferable leadership experience from construction, trades, engineering, maintenance, utilities, drainage, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing or the Armed Forces.
This is a physically demanding, hands-on role—not an office-based management position. You will supervise teams of approximately six to fifteen operatives while also working alongside them when required.
Pay and working arrangements
- £17.00–£18.25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
- Guaranteed minimum of 37.5 paid hours every week
- Guaranteed annual earnings of £33,150–£35,588 based on minimum contracted hours
- Typical working week of 40–60 paid hours, including travel
- All business travel time paid at your full hourly rate from home
- Earnings can reach approximately £44,200–£56,940 when consistently working 50–60 paid hours, depending on your hourly rate
- Permanent, year-round employment
- Five shifts may be scheduled within each Saturday-to-Friday working week, with schedules notified in advance.
- Occasional night-shift and weekend working may be required.
- Typically four nights away from home during a working week
- Often home at weekends, subject to project requirements
- Company-booked and paid accommodation
- £25 subsistence allowance for each night worked away

The role
As a Field Manager, you will take responsibility for organising and completing site-based projects safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading, briefing and motivating teams of approximately six to fifteen operatives
- Organising daily work and allocating people, equipment and responsibilities
- Working alongside the team to maintain productivity and quality
- Ensuring projects are completed safely, on time and to client requirements
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and employee welfare
- Delivering site briefings and toolbox talks
- Monitoring progress and responding sensibly to changing circumstances
- Liaising professionally with clients and providing progress updates
- Identifying problems early and implementing practical solutions
- Completing essential site and project documentation
- Reporting progress, incidents and changes to the appropriate company manager
What we are looking for
Essential:
- At least one year’s experience supervising or managing people in a practical working environment
- Experience leading a team to complete work safely, productively and on time
- Strong health and safety awareness
- Willingness to take responsibility for team punctuality, presentation, conduct and performance
- Confidence enforcing PPE/RPE, safety and company standards
- Ability to plan projects and resources in advance
- Confidence using mobile applications to record time, inspections and project reports
- Ability to coach employees, provide constructive feedback and address poor standards
- Initiative and confidence to stop work, seek guidance or escalate concerns when necessary
- Good organisation, common sense and practical problem-solving ability
- Confidence communicating with employees, clients and managers
- Willingness to undertake physically demanding work
- Flexibility to work throughout the UK and stay away from home regularly
- Full UK driving licence
- Reliable and calm approach when working under pressure
- You will live within approximately one hour’s travelling distance of our Harrogate base, HG3 1EQ.
Preferred:
- Construction, trade, engineering, industrial, utilities, maintenance, manufacturing or logistics experience
- CSCS card
- SMSTS/SSSTS or an equivalent supervisory health and safety qualification
Desirable:
- IPAF
- PASMA
- Experience delivering toolbox talks and completing site documentation
You do not need to hold every listed qualification. We will consider candidates with the right practical leadership experience and provide appropriate training and certification.
