ibis Leicester City is a 94-room city centre hotel seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of maintenance across the property. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and functionality of our facilities, delivering high standards of maintenance and safety. This full-time role offers a salary of £30,000 per annum plus benefits.
You will be responsible for the general upkeep of 94 bedrooms and all public areas, supported by trusted external contractors where required. Working closely with the Hotel Manager, housekeeping, reception, and Starboard Hotels’ central Property Director, you will proactively manage maintenance, anticipate issues, and ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain high standards of upkeep across bedrooms and public areas
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes
- Coordinate repairs, servicing, and installations with contractors
- Ensure health and safety protocols are met and monitored using systems such as Riskproof
- Keep the plant room clean, organised, and fully operational
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment
- Liaise with the central Property Director
- Collaborate with housekeeping and reception to identify and resolve technical defects
- Attend the hotel in the event of urgent maintenance issues outside normal hours if required
About You
- Previous experience in a maintenance role, ideally within hospitality
- Strong all-round practical skills, including basic plumbing, electrical and general repairs
- Knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively
- Good communication skills with staff, suppliers, and contractors
- Basic computer literacy
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
