Due to continued growth, we are now looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our talented kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role within a supportive and professional environment, with accommodation available for the right candidate.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about food, confident leading a team, and committed to delivering consistently high standards.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining food quality, presentation, cleanliness, stock control, and kitchen efficiency. You will also help lead, motivate, and develop junior members of the kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and service of high-quality dishes to company standards
- Support the Head Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen
- Help lead service periods, ensuring consistency, quality, and smooth kitchen performance
- Supervise, train, and support junior chefs and kitchen team members
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and organisation throughout the kitchen
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, health and safety, and hygiene regulations
- Support stock control, food rotation, ordering, and waste management procedures
- Contribute ideas towards menu development and seasonal specials
- Promote a positive, professional, and team-focused kitchen culture
- Step up to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence when required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or strong Chef de Partie role
- A genuine passion for food and hospitality
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Confident leading by example and supporting the development of junior team members
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and SFBB procedures
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members
- Relevant catering or hospitality qualifications are advantageous but not essential
- Food Safety certification preferred

Pay: £33,500.00-£38,600.00 per year
