Assistant Accountant – Qualified or Part-Qualified
Location: Blyth, Northumberland
Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 depending on qualifications and experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: [Monday–Friday, 9am–4.30pm]
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Accountant to join our Accountancy practice team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified or part-qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a successful and supportive business.
You will work closely with the Owner Accountant on a varied portfolio of SME/OMB clients. Assisting with the day-to-day running of the practice and supporting clients fulil their statutory obligations by the production of accurate and timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities
· Preparation of statutory and non-statutory accounts
· Completing Self-Assessment tax returns
· VAT returns and other financial reporting
· Liaise with clients to answer queries and provide support when needed
· Helping to improve financial processes and controls
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
· Qualified or part-qualified in AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent
· Experienced in an accounts or finance role
· Confident using Microsoft Excel
· Experienced with accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, VT and IRIS
· Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
· Comfortable working to deadlines
· Able to work independently as well as part of a team
· A good communicator with a positive and professional approach
· Keen to continue developing their accounting career
Candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.
