Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 1 LGV Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a strong focus on commercial driving and delivery operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate flatbed lorries in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Safely load, secure, and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and adherence to safety procedures
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise efficiency and punctuality
- Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, including delivery notes and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues during transit
- Uphold high standards of vehicle cleanliness and maintenance throughout shifts
- Adhere to all legal requirements for commercial driving and transport regulations
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices for heavy vehicle operation
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with a focus on timely and secure deliveries
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to plan routes efficiently and adapt to changing schedules or conditions
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and cargo handling
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when necessary
