About us
We know that we are a bit quirky – after all, how many swimming pools exist in a shipping container or in our case 3! We know that we’re not well known in the leisure industry …. so perhaps you’re wondering why you would want to work with us?
Here at Swim in a Tin you will be part of a small but enthusiastic team who want to help our customers enjoy their swimming experience, regardless of whether they are elite triathletes or simply wanting to gain confidence in the water. You will be instrumental in helping to ensure that our customers have a great experience.
Swim in a Tin was conceived through a passion for swimming and a desire to offer a safe, private, quiet and flexible space to swim whether you are a beginner, improver or competitor.
We see ourselves as a swimming partner, here to support anyone who feels uncomfortable going to a public pool for whatever reason. It is a different experience, it is a new way of swimming and essentially, it is focused on supporting individual needs. We offer 1-2-1 and 2-2-1 lessons for children and adults as well as flexible “pay as you swim” sessions where you can use the pool as you wish, for example, swim training, water-based physio or relaxation.
As we expand our hours, we need additional Swim Coaches to join the Team. As a Swim Coach at Swim in a Tin, you’ll be enthusiastic and keen to share your love of swimming with all members. You will need to work with adults or children to help them develop and grow their enjoyment of swimming. Importantly, you will want them to have fun, to leave with a smile on their face and to look forward to their next session.
You will be a Fully qualified Swimming Teacher, Swim England Level 2 or STA Award and Certificate and have experience in working with SEND customers. You must have a current first aid qualification and either be DBS cleared or be prepared to undertake a DBS check.
As important as the qualifications, we’re looking for team members with a great ‘can do’ attitude. You will need to be able to gain a good understanding of a swimmers needs and concerns and have the ability to communicate well with them. For our experienced swimmers, you will be able to advise on stroke improvement and for our least experienced swimmers, you will need to reassure and to encourage.
We are currently looking for part-time support on Saturday 8.30am – 3.30pm. We also recognise that to fill our need, it may need more than one person. Please reach out and we can talk it through.
