Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to residents in care home, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalised care and assistance. The Healthcare Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and deliver high-quality support tailored to individual needs. Knowledge of basic IT is important as care plans are electronic.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily activities such as washing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Support the implementation of personalised care plans under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive environment.
- Administer basic health checks, such as temperature and blood pressure measurements, as required.
- Maintain accurate electronic records of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures.
- Assist with medication management in accordance with care plans and legal requirements.
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding where necessary.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Good command of English language skills for effective communication with residents and team members.
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate documentation and updating care records.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to show empathy and understanding towards patients' needs.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Organised, reliable, and committed to delivering high standards of patient care.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, or evenings as required.
