This role is contracted at 40 hours per week. The standard working pattern will be 7.30am to 4.00pm or 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

The Role
Role Purpose:
To deliver high-quality water training and assessment, with a primary focus on mains water installation, service laying and associated utility water qualifications. The role will train and assess candidates’ competence against awarding organisation standards, support apprenticeship delivery, and ensure training delegates receive a safe, practical and engaging learning experience that promotes lifelong learning.
Scope:
- Primarily Manchester based, with travel required to other 3t locations or customer sites
- External relationships with utility contractors and construction-based customers
- Close liaison with other trainers and planning and quality departments
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete all administrative work linked to the qualification and assessments
- Keep and maintain accurate records of assessments and paperwork in accordance with the awarding organisation requirements and 3t’s own quality requirements
- Provide prompt information, advice, guidance and constructive feedback to candidates during and after completion of the qualification.
- Make sure that assessment strategies used are inclusive (regardless of gender, age or origin) and be fair, reliable and consistent in assessment decisions
- Comply with the internal quality assurance procedures

- Ensure all candidates comply with the Health and safety standards
- Be aware of Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding including the Prevent Duty.
- Support the delivery of apprenticeship programmes, including planning, training, assessment and progress support for water utility apprentices
- Deliver practical and classroom-based training to delegates on mains water installation, water service laying, safe systems of work and industry best practice
- Maintain current technical knowledge of water network construction, mains laying, service laying, repair techniques and relevant water industry standards
- Comply with all 3t policies and procedures

The Person
Essential Criteria:
- 5 years Utility sector experience, preferably with a strong background in water networks and clean water distribution
- Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector (PTLLS) Level 4, or equivalent teaching qualification
- Assessing Competence in the Work Environment Level 3, A1 or D32/D33 Qualification - if not already obtained, willingness to work towards
- Level 1 Certificate in Network Construction Operations (Water)
- Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Water) - Mains Layer
- Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Water) - Service Layer
- Experience delivering training on mains water installation, water service laying and associated practical skills
- Experience supporting apprenticeship delivery, including delegate progress, assessment preparation and workplace evidence requirements
- EUSR Water Hygiene and relevant water industry safety awareness
- NRSWA ticket
Desirable Criteria:
- Emergency First Aid at Work qualification
- FREC 3 qualification
- EUSR Cat 3, 4 and 5
- Deep Excavation qualifications
- Utility SHEA Water
- Experience delivering regulated water utility qualifications or accredited water training programmes
- Gas network construction knowledge or qualifications that support cross-utility delivery
