With a fleet of over 4000 assets across the consortium, and the complex need for modern policing, we maintain a variety of vehicles, that include a diverse range of marked and unmarked police vehicles, such as Fast Roads, Armed Response, Patrol Vehicles, Motorcycles, Vans, Horseboxes, trailers & Much more.
You’ll have plenty to experience and get involved in.
The technicians play a crucial role in ensuring vehicle availability for officers to have the vehicles they require efficiently and safely while taking pride in doing so.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle maintenance – Provide efficient service to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on the vehicle fleet. Reduce vehicle maintenance costs and maximise fleet availability by ensuring work on the vehicle fleet is timely and necessary. Follow multiple manufacturers’ repair instructions, specific methods and techniques. Accurately determine the serviceability of all vehicle components, mechanical, electrical and hydraulic; using industry recognised tools and equipment.
Warranty jobs - Accurately follow the ‘end to end’ process for each manufacturer’s warranty process to maximise return.
Inspection and diagnosis - Visually inspect and road test vehicles, interpreting feedback from the vehicle’s correct function. Diagnose electrical faults accurately, using high and low technology electrical test equipment to ensure they achieve minimum (or exceed) vehicle manufacturers’ standards. Maintain high technology test equipment to configure / reconfigure the appropriate system correctly.
Data / Information - Accurately record measurements and data on completed work. Read, interpret and analyse wiring diagrams, making use of interactive guides available from various manufacturers’ diagnostic equipment and web-based programs.
Development / training - Take responsibility for your personal development and keep up to date with relevant training for manufacturers and advanced training with a variety of different Police equipment.
