Job Overview
To deliver an unforgettable experience for matchday mascots, fundamental to Wigan Athletics’ commitment to family excellence.
Duties
- Greet mascots and family members on entry to the stadium, explaining the procedures for the day
- Escorting mascots into the changing room and onto the pitch to meet the players
- Arrange area for mascots to have a kickabout that does not interfere with the pitch
- Organise mascots into a line and pair them up with their player for the walk-out onto the pitch
- Collect mascots after Captains photo in the centre circle and escort them back to family members in dedicated area
Knowledge, skills and qualities:
- Skilled in engaging with young people to ensure they feel comfortable and confident, leaving The Brick Community Stadium with lifelong memories of the day
- Friendly and approachable, promoting a welcoming environment for all mascots and parents
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage responsibilities effectively
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Flexibility to work match days (midweek and weekends)
- Commitment to safeguarding standards and equality, diversity and inclusion.
