Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in food preparation and kitchen operations, with a keen eye for food safety and quality. Duties
- Assist in food preparation and cooking under the supervision of senior chefs, ensuring dishes meet quality standards.
- Support food production processes, including mise en place, portioning, and plating.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Supervise junior kitchen staff when required, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages or replenishment needs to management promptly.
- Ensure all food safety protocols are adhered to during food handling and storage.
- Contribute to menu development ideas and participate in special culinary projects as needed.
- Assist with serving guests during busy periods, maintaining a high standard of hospitality.
Experience
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Demonstrable knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards.
- Supervising experience or team management skills are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
- Experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not essential.
- Previous involvement in food production or culinary roles will be considered an asset.
