Overview
Elf Forest is looking for a confident and enthusiastic Gardening & Forest School Elf to join our team for the 2026 Christmas season.
This role would be perfect for someone with a love of gardening, trees and the outdoors, or experience in Forest School, teaching, horticulture, gardening or outdoor learning.
You will become one of our Elf Forest characters and lead small groups of children through a fun, hands-on activity inspired by trees, nature and the forest environment.
We're looking for someone who is warm, confident, knowledgeable and naturally good with children. You don't need acting or character-performing experience — we're much more interested in finding someone who genuinely enjoys gardening and nature and can share that enthusiasm with children.
Training can be provided on the activity, relevant Christmas tree knowledge and bringing your Elf Forest character to life.
Requirements
- Weekend availability is essential
- Experience or a strong personal interest in gardening, trees, horticulture, Forest School or outdoor learning
- Confident and comfortable engaging with groups of children
- Friendly, enthusiastic and able to bring an Elf Forest character to life
- Comfortable working outdoors in winter conditions
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable wearing costume and remaining in character
- Able to work well as part of a busy team
Previous experience working with children would be an advantage, but formal teaching, Forest School or horticultural qualifications are not essential.
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
