Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Window Fitter specialising in window repairs to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining windows across various residential and commercial properties. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in diverse environments. Prior experience in related trades such as roofing, carpentry, or masonry is highly advantageous. Duties
- Measure and assess window frames and openings to determine appropriate fitting or repair solutions
- Remove old or damaged windows carefully, ensuring minimal disruption to the property
- Install new windows using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques according to schematics and specifications
- Repair or replace faulty window components, including glass panes, frames, seals, and hardware
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and building regulations
- Assist with related tasks such as construction painting, plastering, or masonry work when required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area during and after project completion
- Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are met efficiently
Requirements
- Proven experience in window fitting or repairs; background in roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, or construction is desirable
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment used in construction trades
- Knowledge of schematics, construction painting, masonry, carpentry, and general construction practices
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety procedures
- Physical fitness to handle lifting heavy materials and work at heights when necessary
- Valid UK driving licence preferred for transportation between sites
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
