Summary
Daher is seeking a motivated and innovative Design Engineer to join our team at Amberley Drive. This is an exciting opportunity to support the design and development of packaging, kitting, and manual handling equipment, working with high-value products across a variety of industries.
As a Design Engineer, you will work closely with customers to develop effective packaging and handling solutions, from initial concept through to design validation and production. You will use your engineering expertise to create innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective designs that meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand packaging, handling, transportation, and storage requirements for high-value items.
- Develop innovative engineering solutions and detailed designs.
- Produce, test, validate, and release designs for manufacture.
- Create technical drawings and specifications for production.
- Select appropriate materials with a focus on sustainability and environmental considerations.
- Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure quality, budget, and delivery targets are achieved.
- Travel within the UK and internationally to assess customer requirements and site suitability.
About you
You will ideally possess:
- Degree qualification in Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar 2D design software.
- Knowledge of PDM/PLM systems, ideally SolidWorks PDM.
- Experience completing engineering calculations, simulations, DFMEA, or LCA activities.
- Strong understanding of steel fabrication and/or timber manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A full clean driving licence.
Desirable Skills
- Knowledge of MPAS (Military Packaging Accreditation Scheme).
- Experience using SAP.

Pay: £32,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
